Macquarie University Health are seeking an exceptional leader for the position of Executive Director MindSpot and Mental Health Services. Established in 2012, MindSpot is a national, evidence-based digital mental health service that has helped more than 250,000 Australians through free, clinician-led assessments and treatment delivered entirely online or by telephone. Operating as a division of Macquarie University Health – Australia's first fully integrated academic health sciences centre – MindSpot sits at the intersection of world-class research, clinical innovation and large-scale service delivery. It draws on the internationally recognised research of Macquarie University's eCentreClinic, renowned for its scientific rigour in developing and evaluating online treatments for mental health conditions.
Reporting to the CEO of Macquarie University Health and overseeing an established leadership team, the Executive Director will:
You will be an executive with proven leadership experience in digital health, mental health or a related healthcare setting, with a deep affinity for the mental health sector. You will bring strong commercial acumen and experience managing complex budgets and government contracts, alongside expertise in clinical governance, stakeholder engagement and digital platform development. You will be a systems thinker who can drive both operational excellence and strategic transformation within a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.

- Lead and grow MindSpot as a national digital mental health service, scaling high-quality care, evolving the platform, driving financial sustainability and further elevating clinical outcomes.
- Lead the development of a whole-of-system mental health strategy, aligning and coordinating MindSpot with the Psychology Clinic, the School of Psychological Sciences and the Lifespan Health and Wellbeing Research Centre to build an integrated mental health ecosystem across Macquarie University Health.
- Manage the MindSpot P&L, funding channels, contract renewal, funding diversification and multi-year business cases to ensure long-term financial sustainability.
- Strengthen relationships with key stakeholders including government funders, Primary Health Networks, referrers, insurance partners and the broader mental health ecosystem.
- Oversee clinical governance, safety and quality systems appropriate for a large-scale digital mental health service, driving evidence-based improvements in outcomes and consumer experience.
- Foster a high-performing, values-led culture with clear accountabilities, strong engagement and meaningful career pathways for clinical and non-clinical staff.
- Harness the intellectual and human capital of the Macquarie University mental health services ecosystem – connecting research, teaching and clinical practice – to grow this world-class mental health service.
