Sunnyhaven Disability Services

Chief Financial Officer

Based Kogarah, Sydney
Founded in 1951, Sunnyhaven Disability Services has built a remarkable 75-year legacy as one of New South Wales’ most respected registered NDIS providers. Headquartered in Kogarah, Sydney, Sunnyhaven supports people with disability across Supported Independent Living, short-term respite, day programs and support coordination – all underpinned by a clear values framework and a genuine commitment to equality and inclusion.

With an annual operating budget of $13 million, a solid asset base of approximately $35 million and an experienced CEO and skills-based Board, Sunnyhaven is well positioned for its next chapter. The organisation is entering an important phase of strategic growth through its 2027–2030 Strategic Plan, with plans for continued organic growth, asset acquisition and expanded service capability.

The Opportunity
Sunnyhaven is now seeking to appoint an outstanding CFO to build upon this strong platform and help shape the organisation’s future direction.

This is a broad and highly influential role that extends well beyond traditional finance. The CFO leads the organisation’s corporate services portfolio – Finance, People & Culture, ICT, Property and Fleet – and plays a central role in shaping Sunnyhaven’s strategy and sustainability. Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the Board and Finance Committee, the CFO will:

  • Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and Board, contributing to and implementing organisational strategy, and providing robust financial reporting and Board-level insight.
  • Ensure financial sustainability, operational discipline and compliance with all statutory, regulatory and contractual requirements.
  • Oversee financial forecasting, budgeting and investment management, including Sunnyhaven’s property and vehicle fleet assets.
  • Lead and implement Sunnyhaven’s Technology and Digital Strategy, including cybersecurity, infrastructure and ERP, creating business value through technology aligned to organisational strategy.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the People & Culture function.
  • Drive continuous improvement across corporate services, identifying and responding to market factors and operational opportunities to ensure sustainable growth.
  • Coach, develop and empower direct reports, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.

The Candidate
We are seeking a commercially astute, hands-on executive who is equally comfortable operating at a strategic level and engaging deeply in operational delivery. You will be CA or CPA qualified and bring substantial executive finance experience, including strong technical accounting capability and analytical skills.

You will demonstrate experience in managing complex stakeholder relationships, driving operational improvement and building capable teams. Experience in strategic growth and business partnering in the NFP, disability or human services sector will be highly valued. Above all, you will bring genuine empathy for the people Sunnyhaven supports and a commitment to the organisation’s mission and values.

Why Join Sunnyhaven
This is a broad, impactful executive role with real influence. It affords the CFO the opportunity to contribute to meaningful outcomes for people with disability and their families, working alongside a purpose-driven leadership team, a supportive and committed Board, and an organisation with the financial strength and strategic ambition to grow. The CFO will help shape Sunnyhaven’s future direction and long-term sustainability.
