Michelle is a Managing Partner at Derwent, leading our Board practice. Based in Sydney, she established the practice more than a decade ago and has since partnered with ASX-listed, private, government, and for-purpose organisations across all industry sectors nationally.

Known for her considered approach, Michelle brings discretion, consistency, and genuine care to all she does. She listens closely, asks thoughtful questions, and takes the long view, understanding that the right board appointment is as much about cultural fit as it is capability. Her approach has built long-standing relationships and earned the confidence of clients and candidates alike.

A passionate advocate for diversity in all its complexity, Michelle has contributed to the AICD 30% Executive Search Working Committee and Women on Boards and leads Derwent's 'Pathway to the Boardroom' forums, guiding the next generation of senior executives on their journey to a board role and portfolio career.

Prior to Derwent, Michelle built her career across three distinct chapters, beginning in the accounting profession, before moving into the information technology sector across the APAC region, and later into executive coaching and leadership development, with a particular focus on supporting high-potential women.

Michelle holds a Bachelor of Economics (Accounting) from The Australian National University and qualified as a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
