Emma is a Partner in our public sector and social purpose practice with experience in a range of executive search engagements across federal and state government. With a passion for public service, Emma also works with the education sector, philanthropic and industry organisations to bring high impact talent to the NFP sector.
She brings to her executive search career more than 30 years as a journalist and communications professional. Reporting in Australia and as a foreign correspondent, she developed a wide network of relationships across all levels of government, the public sector and large multinational enterprises.
Before joining Derwent, Emma spent a year advising leadership teams at the intersection of marketing and issues management, helping them create engaging content and to leverage a dynamic media and regulatory environment. For the past three years, Emma has also been an Adjunct Lecturer and Pro-Chancellor at Charles Sturt University.
A published author of three editions of the entrepreneur’s guide – The Small Business Book, Emma is a strategic thinker who thrives on solving complex challenges. Passionate about diversity and inclusion, she is energised by the opportunity to use her skills in research and analysis to match terrific people to excellent opportunities.
Emma holds a Bachelor of Arts (Journalism) from Deakin University and Melbourne University.
