The Botanic Gardens and Centennial Parklands (BGCP) is delivering great things for NSW, in an environment where no two days are the same and is seeking a Director Commercial Services to lead in the protection and promotion of Sydney's best loved Parklands and Botanic Gardens. This is an opportunity to play a vital role supporting world class botanical science and horticulture, bringing recreational and cultural activity to NSW and the world.
BGCP is a globally recognised organisation acknowledged as a progressive and forward-thinking business, winning several global awards. Within the BGCP portfolio, there is The Botanic Gardens which has three main sites, including the iconic Royal Botanic Garden Sydney, the Australian Botanic Gardens with its award-winning Plant Bank and the cool climate Blue Mountains Botanic Gardens. Centennial Parklands which is home to the Entertainment Quarter, Fox Studios, Moore Park Golf, and more than 100 sporting field venues serving players from grass roots junior soccer, cricket, netball, to the professional football teams of the Roosters, Waratahs, and Sydney Swans.
The Director Commercial Services is a pivotal role at the BGCP, providing expert advice and strategic leadership in the management of business development, property and retail management functions to deliver financially sustainable and customer focused outcomes while meeting strategic objectives and statutory requirements.
An important mandate for the Director Commercial Services will be to bring an entrepreneurial lens to generate new opportunities, including the development of high-level food and beverage and retail strategies. A critical success factor for this role is to have the ability to create and identify new ideas for the use of the assets and quickly articulate the commercial possibilities.
With a commitment of $100m to be spent over the next 5 years, this is a great opportunity for a commercial property expert who has solid experience in managing and administering a range of complex and sensitive commercial contracts and arrangements with large corporates that operate as licensees of high profile and large venues. Tertiary qualifications in a business-related discipline, commercial and contract law, or demonstrated equivalent experience would be required.
