Life on the Fraser Coast
Do you want to start your day with a peaceful stroll along the beach, enjoying the fresh ocean air? How about listening to the birds while you enjoy your morning coffee? Hervey Bay and Maryborough are located in the Fraser Coast region of South East Queensland. Hervey Bay is just over three hours' drive or a quick 45-minute flight from Brisbane. The Fraser Coast is a stunning tapestry of nature's wonders, featuring the World Heritage-listed Fraser Island, the Great Sandy Strait, marine parks, wetlands, ancient rainforests and a stunning coastline of pristine, white sandy beaches. The beauty of the Fraser Coast is not confined to the coast, with mountains, national parks, native woodlands, dense rainforest, and the beautiful Mary River. Known as the whale watching capital of Australia, you can get up close and personal with the humpbacks and enjoy an enviable year-round climate. The stunning Hervey Bay esplanade is dotted with parks, playgrounds, picnic areas, piers, cafes, restaurants and shops to keep the whole family entertained. Maryborough is known as the 'Heritage City' and is rich in history and culture. The Fraser Coast really is where the coastline meets the country.
