About Your Opportunity
We deliver customer focussed services, infrastructure and business across Queensland, with offices based in Brisbane as well as a number of regional centres across the state.
As Chief Finance Officer, you will play an integral leadership role in achieving this vision as well as providing timely, accurate and relevant strategic advice to our Minister, the Director-General, and members of the Executive Leadership Team. The position is accountable for an annual operating budget of $6.2b, capital budget of $2.9b and net assets of $65.1b, overseeing an establishment of approximately 170 employees.
Responsibilities include the provision of high level commercial advice, financial assessments and insightful information which will maximise value, drive efficiency and facilitate planned and targeted investment. This incorporates a dynamic mix of financial, procurement and facilities frameworks and functions for the Department.
Whilst the department's Leadership team is currently primarily based in Brisbane, we are committed to providing safe and flexible work practices which support the delivery of its services.
You will have a proven track record as a leader within a large, complex and multi-faceted environment. With extensive experience across the public, private and/or not for profit sector, you will have a strong background in strategy and policy implementation, service delivery, and client service. Possession of appropriate tertiary and/or post-graduate qualifications and certification in accountancy are mandatory requirements for the role.

The position will provide an attractive remuneration package (s122 Contract) compensatory to the critical nature and scope of the role.
