The National Disability Insurance Scheme (the Scheme) is a world-first social reform. It is a fundamental shift in the way Australians with a significant and permanent disability access support to achieve their life goals and outcomes. For many Australians, it will be the first time they receive the disability support they need.

The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) is responsible for the delivery of the Scheme for participants and building a sustainable NDIS that genuinely connects and engages the community and stakeholders. With more than 465,000 participants (estimated to grow to approximately 500,000 over the coming years) and management of $22 billion in funding each year, this is an extraordinary opportunity to make a difference in the lives of people with a disability, their families and carers.

Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the Branch Manager Workforce and Capability leads a team of approximately 80 staff delivering enterprise-wide workforce planning, workforce data and analytics, culture, organisation design strategies and business partnering services. The Workforce and Capability branch enables the delivery of key human resource projects and work programs aimed at continually building an inclusive, capable, and engaged workforce, to deliver a sustainable organisation and NDIS.

We are seeking an executive with extensive experience leading workforce change in large organisations in dynamic contexts. It is essential that you have deep expertise in learning and development strategies to meet evolving organisational capability requirements, and that your strategic capability is augmented with strong operational leadership and commercial acumen. Experience in the disability or public sector is not required, however you will be passionate about shaping an inclusive and diverse workforce to make a difference to people’s lives. The preferred location for this position is Geelong and the NDIA supports flexible working arrangements.
