This role is located in Rozelle, Sydney with a relocation to Homebush in 2022.
NSW Ambulance operates a mobile health service for the community of NSW. It provides emergency and non-emergency health care, retrieval and specialist transport services, major event planning and response, and community education. It is one of the largest Ambulance services in the world, serving a population of over 8 million, employing over 6,000 people and 350 volunteers at more than 300 locations across NSW. NSW Ambulance operates a fleet of more than 1,500 Ambulance and other vehicles and has an annual expenditure budget in excess of $1.1 billion.
The Director People and Culture is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, reports to the CE and leads the design and implementation of the People & Culture Strategy, created to deliver an engaged, inclusive and high performing workforce that is aligned to and supports NSW Ambulance’s strategic plan. Leading a direct team of 7 plus a much larger distributed team, you will drive a more agile, responsive and contemporary organisational culture. You will work closely with your industrial relations team to deliver robust and sustainable industrial relations frameworks. You will develop and implement strategies and programs which fully support staff, including recruitment, retention, and professional development. Critical to your success will be your ability to foster a workplace culture which is inclusive, collaborative, accountable, engaged and ultimately supports NSW Ambulance to deliver their reform agenda.
We are seeking an outstanding executive leader with a track record of HR leadership gained within a large, complex, customer focused, multi-site organisation, ideally with an industrial relations framework. You’ll be an outstanding communicator with excellent stakeholder skills and a natural ability to influence and engage at all levels.
This represents a unique opportunity to create and lead the delivery of major cultural reform within this large, complex and important organisation.

This is an ongoing, full time, Band 1, Health Service Senior Executive (HSSE) role. An attractive remuneration package within the range of $215,923 to $238,977 per annum, with annual performance reviews, will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
