Job Description
This newly created position has the mandate to drive the growth agenda of the business through acquisitions and inorganic growth. The Manager, Business Development will play a lead role in M&A assignments from deal origination to execution, strategic projects and progressing transactions already in play. The role will also be responsible for the creation and evaluation of new and early-stage commercial opportunities and will work closely with and influence the executive leadership team and key external service providers.
Applications are sought from individuals who have deep knowledge of the mining sector and can deal with complexity in terms of business scope, scale and market dynamics. Added to this will be a proven track record in M&A, corporate finance and/or transactions services with the requisite qualifications e.g. Commerce or BEng + MBA. Culture fit is absolute key and we require an intelligent, proactive individual who can build immediate credibility and trust with the senior leadership team. Equally as important is the ability to communicate effectively across all areas of the organisation, juggle multiple priorities, as well as deliver on key business initiatives and projects. The role demands a highly motivated, engaging and outcome orientated individual.
